Lisa McMahon and Bert Jones visited Eureka Springs for the first time together in July 2008. Bert grew up in the Ozarks of southern Missouri, but had been living around the world and in other parts of the country for the previous 28 years. Lisa was born and raised in southern California and is a true “beach girl”.
While visiting Eureka Springs, Lisa fell in love with the beauty of the area, the friendliness and charm of the residents and the simplicity of the Ozarks lifestyle. She knew this would be the perfect area in which to raise their three children. Bert just felt at home.
While on their Ozarks adventure, Lisa & Bert learned of an opportunity to purchase Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse. Because he had no restaurant experience, Bert didn’t really consider the opportunity. Lisa, on the other hand, had 15 years of restaurant management experience and was immediately intrigued. It didn’t take much for Lisa to get Bert to realize the opportunity before them. Lisa & Bert bought Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse in December 2008, a mere six months after their first visit.
Working closely with Executive Chef Mark Cook and Sous Chef Chad Scates, Lisa & Bert are very involved with every aspect of your experience. Proclaiming themselves true “foodies”, they are very proud of the quality of food presented at Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse.
